Country: Dominican Republic
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $500.00
Project Launch:
A $492 grant was awarded to help initiate and support an all girls volleyball team in the community of Duveaux in the Dominican Republic. The 2009 grant from World Connect’s Kids to Kids program aimed to encourage athletics as a healthy way for young women to become active leaders, healthy teenagers and competitive players. Forming the team not only provided these young women with healthy recreational activity, but also gave them a chance to compete in a national volleyball tournament, raising their skill level as well as their confidence and self-esteem. These young women were part of something positive where they saw the benefits of dedication and discipline and gained life skills that continue to help them grow into the women they aspire to be.Explore other Projects
