PIGGERY FARMING PROJECT
Project Launch: 12-19-22
Funding from this project will support 100 neediest households in Nyanza Sector of Gisagara district in the Southern Province of Rwanda who have formed the Iterambere ry'Amarambya and Gisunzu group to start pig farming through the purchase and distribution of 100 pigs to 100 out of 139 households in this group (One pig to each household). The households will raise the pigs, obtain manure from the pig droppings to fertilise their crop gardens so they can grow enough food to feed their families. Once the pigs produce, this group will initiate a pig pass-on to give a piglet to another needy family in the group and larger community so they can also enjoy the benefits of livestock farming. Once the pigs have multiplied in number, families will earn additional income from sale of pig offsprings and surplus manure.
