A $110 grant from World Connect’s Kids to Kids Program supported “Los Pequeños Geógrafos (The Little Geographers), a club of primary school students in the town of Narihuala, Peru in painting map murals in the school to promote the study of geography. Despite its historical importance as the capital of the Tallan culture, Narihuala lacks basic school resources such as books and maps to educate its students. The club, initially started by the 5th grade class, completed a world map mural and requested funding from World Connect to paint a map of Peru and a regional map of Piura to provide the school with new resources to teach geography on the regional, national, and international levels. The maps will also provided a window to the world outside of Narihaula and many opportunities students could pursue, encouraging them to dream big.Explore other Projects
