Year: 2010
Country: Dominican Republic
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $500.00
Project Launch:
A $500 grant from World Connect’s Kids to Kids Program helped support the development of a community magazine in Partido, Dajabon in the Dominican Republic. Students learned reporting and photography skills, and the project gave local high school students a meaningful activity to fulfill otherwise idle time. The project taught leadership, decision-making and business skills to the group. The students now see the results of their hard work and are proud to share their successful project with family and friends not only on the local level but also worldwide. The group hopes to initiate similar IT/Communication project in neighboring communities by becoming facilitators for other youth to pass on skills.Explore other Projects
