Dairy Goats and Green Gardens
Project Launch: 12-28-19
This project involves raising five goats, four female and one male. The goats' milk and meat will be used to suppliment nutrition, particularly for newborns who need to be weaned early to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV. The women will also create gardens and grow a variety of fruits and vegetables, using the goats' manure as fertilizer. As the goats reproduce, their offspring will be passed on to other families in the community. Income from the sale of goat's milk will sustain the vaccines and veternary consultation fees for new goats. 32 women will be participate in trainings in order to care for and manage the goats successfully.
