Bloomers Learning Initiative
Project Launch: 12-7-21
Karonga Scouts intends to use $8,464.74 to construct a solar powered library and literacy hub targeting deaf students at Karonga School for the Deaf. The hub will be holding reading sessions, host creative writing workshops and story writing competitions to spur the reading and writing culture among the students. The school has been performing abysmally in Primary School Leaving Certificate Examinations due to lack of reading and practice space. Therefore, the hub will help improve literacy rate at school which will in turn increase the performance of the students while at the same time opening up opportunities for other community members to also benefit from the library. Over 100 deal students and 300 community students are expected to benefit
